It’s pretty hard to over state the significance of Alternative Tentacles and its influence on us as young punks. Of course The Dead Kennedys were the band that sucked us in, but then our ears were opened to a whole host of fresh news sounds. Their “Let Them Eat Jellybeans” compilation was a mean treat of amazing American punk rock we hadn’t heard before. DOA, Feederz, Bad Brains, Flipper…..
It wasn’t just the straight out punk though, The Beatnigs and the Erazerhead motion picture sound track just two examples of a label stretching it's remit.
Their Winston Smith BAT logo is up their with the best of iconic punk designs. We thought it would look great on a western, and when the idea came it was difficult to expel. So, we made one and dispatched it to the A.T. HQ in San Francisco. We were floored when we got a message back from head honcho Jello Biafra saying “Let’s do it!”
So here they are. Two super cool Western Work Shirts. Who says the world isn’t a magical place?
